Love Notes from God

It’s a love story like no other . . . the creator of the winds, waves, beautiful sunsets as well as blue oceans and pink flamingos loves us. Can you hold that thought in your mind and in your heart?

When life gets hectic we sometimes have to be reminded of God’s great love and today, Valentine’s Day, is a perfect day to do just that.

Let’s stop for a moment and allow the Word of God to wash over our hearts by reading a few love notes from Him:

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5). Yes, before we were born—even formed in our mother’s womb—God knew us!

We love because he first loved us“. (1 John 4:19). How amazing that He not only knew us before we were in our mother’s womb but He loved us! Even while we were sinners and didn’t want to have anything to do with Him—He still loved us. He loved us so much that . . .

“. . . He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). Yes, He gave His ONLY son so that we could have a relationship with Him and live with Him forever.

In Isaiah 54:10 we read, ” ‘For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” He loves us and He wants us to know that His love will never depart from us.

And one of my favorite love notes is found in Zeph. 3:17 where we read:

The Lord your God is in your midst,
    a mighty one who will save;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
    he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.

What a picture of a loving father, one singing over his child. That’s you. That’s me. The creator of the universe is in our midst, He rejoices over us, He quiets us with His love and He sings over us.

The Bible has love notes from God woven through the pages and are there for us to read, if only we will take the time. May God’s love fill your heart and soul in a way that changes your outlook on this special day and that you will know of His great love every day, not just on Valentine’s Day.

  1. This is beautiful, Beth. I hope I never stop seeing the picture of God singing over us. Reminds me of the song, Lord, You Amaze Me. We who deserve nothing, have everything in Him. 🙂
