When my daughter was two years old, I walked outside and found her sitting in the mud, painting rocks with some old acrylic paints I had, a stick for a paintbrush.
Unable to resist the cuteness of my messy artist, like any mother, I snapped a picture.
It wasn’t until seven years later that we really discovered her love of painting with oils.
Later on I stumbled across that picture. My beautiful little girl. Messy, dirty and determined.
Wow, I thought. If only I had recognized it back then and cultivated it.
I would never have dreamed that we would have went from mud to masterpieces.
We are much the same. God has crafted and designed us for a purpose, with a destiny and goal in mind.
If we would only recognize the seemingly insignificant things in our lives, we would realize that God is trying to cultivate us and take us from mud to masterpieces.
Never underestimate the kind word spoken or the lending of a helping hand. A speech given before a small crowd or a hand full of words penned on paper.
You may be sitting in the dirt painting rocks, wondering what on earth God wants you to do with your life. . .
Give it time.
God doesn’t deal in second hand destinies.
Your masterpiece will unfold and then you will look back and see, He had a plan all along.
