So much of the chaos surrounding America and the world stems from the absence of truth. The Answer? God is Truth and His Word is Truth.
When it comes to what the world says versus God’s Word, I’m going with God every time.
Why? Because truth is not up for debate. God’s holy Word wins hands down.
Let’s look at 4 things that make God’s Word the truth we need. Especially in the current state of our world.
(1.) The Answer: God-breathed and Useful Truth
God’s Word comes from Him, the Creator, and sets the standards for how to live the Christian life.
The Bible is alive, the living Word of God.
But how do we go about living God’s Word? And how does the Bible show through in our lives?
Living Scripture in our daily lives equates to a life of no compromise. Because our goals, desires, values, morals, and decisions are affected by Scripture. Also, our relationships, lifestyle, worldview, heart, mind, and so on, stay bent toward scriptural truths.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV, emphasis added)
Notice this verse doesn’t say some Scripture is good for you to live a pleasing life to the Lord.
No, “all” Scripture, the whole counsel of God from Genesis to Revelation. And it’s breathed out (living), and profitable in living the Christian faith. Because it trains us in righteousness.
2.) Nourishing and Sustaining
Not only do we feed our bodies to sustain life, but we must also nourish our souls. Something much deeper than feeding our stomachs to be merry and full. Nothing the world offers curbs our spiritual appetites, gives long-lasting satisfaction, or transforms our character.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 (NIV)
(3.) The Answer: Living and Active Truth
God’s Word changes me at the core of who I am.
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)
(4.) Truth and Light

While the world grapples to define truth, the Bible remains fundamental and trustworthy, and true from Genesis to Revelation.
Jesus is the Word. And the word became flesh in Christ, full of grace and truth (John 1:1, 14). The world suggests we agree with whatever our gut tells us feels right.
Still, the world walks in darkness. But Scripture sheds light on our lives.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 (ESV) The Psalm goes on to say, “The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130 (ESV)
Likewise, lighting our path with the Word keeps us from spiritually tripping. Through understanding, it drives away the darkness of the evil one, deception, and false beliefs.
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” John 8:12 (ESV)
When we follow the light of the world, Jesus, the path leads to the light of life—living the Word.
And there’s so much more about the Bible that makes it unique to other religious writings—inherent, infallible, and historical.
Applications: The Answer, God’s Truth

God’s Word comes as a package deal. We either believe it in its entirety, cover to cover, or not at all.
Let’s pray to desire the full counsel of God from Genesis to Revelation.
Then, we read and meditate on God’s Word daily.
Our heart needs truth that’s only found in the Bible.
God’s people, let’s quit limping between the world’s opinions and God’s Word!
Prayer: Lord, we believe Your very essence is Truth. Give us the desire and strength to set our minds on things above, to hide your Word in our hearts, to daily put on the full armor of God, to walk in the light as you are in the light, to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ, to love you with all our heart, soul and mind, and to praise your holy name above all! In the name of Jesus, Amen!
