God’s Strength—Our Hope

God's Strength--Our Hope--church steeple pointing into clouds and sun rays

God’s strength, our hope—a promise for the present

When needs overwhelm with no answers in sight,

look to Yahweh-Jireh, Yahweh Provides.

If control disappears and power eludes,

trust in El-Shaddai, God Almighty.

Because the powerful topple, weakness revealed,

commit to Adonai, our Lord, our Master.

Despite personal struggles and a lack of world peace,

find comfort in Yahweh-Shalom, Yahweh My Peace.

Though contracts mean nothing and pledges face scorn,

depend on El-Berith, God of the Covenant.

With respect abandoned and the sacred ignored,

bow to El-Elyon, the Most High God.

While life passes swiftly, here now and then gone,

trust El-Olam, the Eternal God.

When feeling invisible, wondering if anyone cares,

rely on El-Roi, God Who Sees Me.

If all else fails, God never will.

Seek God’s provision.

Depend on God’s strength.

Rest in God’s peace.

Accept God’s covenant.

Follow God’s path.

Many names, yet the one and only God,

loves you,

has a special plan for you,

and walks with you

through whatever the future holds.

God’s strength, our hope—a promise for eternity

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God” (Psalm 42:11 NIV).
