Your Song His Words
David wrote, “I would have fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” (Psalm 27:13) His song, God’s words. Now you can write your song with His words.
Now imagine that verse — or any verse — set to music. Your music. A song birthed from your heart with God’s faith (Mark 11:23) woven into the words. Here are two examples of how, last week, I created two songs based on verses that leapt off the page.

Promises ringing, like waves on the shore — He fulfilled the Law, every blessing is yours — He kept every statute, and it’s all for free — We wear His robe, that’s how we’re set free.

From Writer to Song Writer

David became a songwriter when he penned his first Psalms. As a shepherd with a lyre and a heart for God, he wrote tunes that still help us believe in the goodness of God today.

Song Making Tools
I’ve tried Suno.ai and Songer.co Of the two, I prefer Suno by far.
I use Claude to help me shape the first draft of lyrics. I take key verses that inspire me, drop them into Claude, ask for a rough draft of lyrics, then start editing, fixing theology, correcting the rhyming and beats.
Finally, for style, I ask Claude to give me a very specific style prompt. For Yes and So Be It!, I wanted a surf guitar riff and a surf beat. The final version was good enough to lift my spirits and keep me hitting replay.
Motivation
“For me, the goal is simple: songs that are about Him, not me. I want to limit ‘we,’ ‘us,’ ‘our,’ ‘me,’ and ‘I’ — because worship isn’t a report on what I’m feeling. It’s a declaration of what Christ has already done. Before you write your first lyric, decide why you want to write your own songs. Then go for it!
