God’s timing is so good. So spot on. This summer, our church is reading the book Pray Bold: Dare to Ask and Believe Big by Joel Osteen. I am facilitating one of the small groups. We are only three chapters in, and it is already impacting our lives.
I think we can all agree — now is a good time for Christians to learn to pray boldly! To believe that God is who He says He is and that He can do what He says He can do. To stand on God’s truths. Now.
Scripture tells us in Ephesians 3:20, “God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.”
I don’t know about you, but I can imagine some pretty awesome things. How about you? James 4:2 tells us that we have not, because we do not ask God for anything.
When we pray small prayers, we will live a small life — Joel Osteen
Matthew 7:11 “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”
God is not limited by my circumstances. I am learning to raise my expectations. Someone told me once; if your dream is something you can accomplish without God’s help, you are not asking big enough.
Mark 11, “Whatever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive it and you will have it.”
Have you been afraid to ask God for all that you need? Is there a dream you have placed on the back burner? Remember, one of the names for God is Jehovah Jireh – the Lord my provider. Our provider. Let’s learn to ask and believe God for big things. ALL for God’s glory!
Extra Note: I also signed up for an art small group at my church. I thought I would share with you photos of last week’s art project. We decorated small prayer journals.

A few things I am praying and believing God for:
- The peace of Israel
- More opportunities to share Christ, and when they come, I will boldly step into them.
- Control over my tongue. That the words of my mouth will reconcile and not divide.
- Courage to walk into new opportunities to help writers.
- I will stop making excuses (fear-based) and sit down and finish the nonfiction book I am writing.
- A permanent place to live
- Creative ways to help the women around me to flourish.
What are you believing God for?
Praying for a restored relationship with Jesus for one of my kids and the health of a beloved family member.
Yes! I have a relative I want to see freed!
