JESUS IS THE BETTER COVENANT

Jesus is the Better Covenant

Perfect Sacrifice:  Jesus, is our ultimate high priest. He offered himself as a perfect sacrifice once and for all (Hebrews 9:24-28). His blood cleanses us forever from all sin. Our next sin is already forgiven. But wait, there’s better news! The Spirit of Jesus works to keep us from sinning!

New Birth Transformation:  Jesus’ covenant brings change within us. God writes his law on our hearts. This leads to a real desire to follow Him (Hebrews 8:10). When we sin, Jesus’ Spirit heals and changes us so that sin does not rule over us.

Direct Relationship:  Through Jesus’ sacrifice, the veil separating us from God is torn down. We have direct access to God through prayer and faith (Hebrews 4:14-16). In fact, Jesus says, “ask the Father anything in MY name and I will do it.”

We get God’s grace:  Rather than keeping Laws and rules, Jesus’ covenant provides forgiveness and salvation by grace through faith in Him, (Ephesians 2:8-9) God’s rules matter, but when we mess up, Jesus has already forgiven us. And if you have His Spirit working in you, he is changing you into His image.

Pray: Lord, thank you that in Jesus I am forgiven and set free from sin — that you are making me to be like Jesus. Amen
