If You Could Help Stop Evil Would You?

Right now, one of the worst atrocities in the world is unfolding in the Nuba Mountain region of Sudan. The genocide and crimes against humanity that we witnessed in Darfur are still being played being out against the people of Northern Sudan. It is the same people group being persecuted, the same government regime and the same tactics being used.

The Persecution Project Foundation has visited the Nuba Mountains, S. Blue Nile Region, and the Abyei region this year. What they learned and the stories he recorded launched an Emergency Hearing in Washington. But the support of the Western Church is still lacking and desperately needed. They’ve launched a campaign called Save the Nuba and are asking for our help.

This truly is the worst regime and the worst crime against humanity happening anywhere else in the world.

We can choose to do one of three things with this knowledge:

1.)  Ignorance

2.)  Apathy

3.)  Action

Choosing action is not always easy when we lack a personal connection to the situation. Anne Frank and Elie Wiesel put faces to the Holocaust and helped show us the depth of our loss and depravity.

Someday we’re going to encounter knowledge of the situation again—whether it’s through a movie or a meeting a survivor. On that day, let’s be so glad that we chose action.

Here are three steps you can take right now:

1.) Visit www.savethenuba.com and educate yourself about the situation. Tell others what you’ve learned.

2.) Help the Persecution Project Foundation by volunteering to “Get Active” for the persecuted.

3.) Help spread awareness of the Nuba plight by reposting one of these free blog posts on your blog or website.

Please leave a comment if you decide to act and let us what you plan to do.

Jessica Dotta has earned the right to wear the title of: Social Media Specialist, Consultant, Publicist, Brand Manager, Editor, Writer, Social Activist, and Business Manager. But the only titles that matter to her are: Called – Redeemed – Beloved – Known by the Father – Daughter – Accepted. . . and Mom. Her life has recently undergone a shaking—one that uprooted nearly every trace of her former life. You’ll have forgive her unconventional posts, as she’s still trying to work out her perspective. She knows one thing though. The most humble and worthy person she ever encountered lived in near obscurity—but sent ripples of change into the world. All because he took the time to care about each hurting person he met. He wasn’t Jesus, but he followed the Great Shepherd and left a legacy. She wants to follow that path.

  1. Thanks Jess. If it wasn’t for you, i never would have even heard of their plight, most likely. We plan on giving part of our tithe to the Nuba cause this month. You ARE making a difference. Keep pronouncing the truth, those with ears to hear are listening!
