Humble Mary

Humble Mary

The angel Gabriel appeared to her

Virgin she was

How could it be?

That she would give birth to Messiah

Before she knew a man

This one who she would deliver

Would save her soul

Mary meek and lowly

She took the angel at his word

She did not doubt

She did not mock

Though the impossible stood before her

But she believed and gently obeyed

The Journey

The journey was an upward climb

Her soul was pierced with sorrow

(As Simeon foretold)

When her Son hung on the crimson cross

Humble Mary

The disciple John would treat you as his mother

At the bidding of the Christ

She was not a perfect mother to the Lamb

But oh so godly

Thank You

Humble Mary

Thank you for the life you lived

That brought us Jesus

Lord and Savior of the world!

Luke 1:38 Mary responds to the angel Gabriel, “I am the Lord’s servant.”
