The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters.
He leads me in paths of righteousness.
He leads me in the ways of peace.
He leads me …
God Always Leads Us Well, Even When It’s Hard
I know I can trust the Lord — He has proven His faithfulness to me over and over and over again. But sometimes the winding path leads into spaces and places that seem to be anything but the abundant life Jesus promised.
And in those broken, difficult places, I have found myself confused about why this happened or how could God allow this when I’m a solid, sold-out Jesus girl!

Now as my faith deepens and my hair grays with age and wisdom, I remember: God is not a god of confusion but a God of Peace. He is sovereign. He is who He says He is, and does what He says He will do.
And I remember that my God goes before me, even if — especially if — the path leads me to anguished tears. He will be there waiting for me — waiting to comfort, to intervene, to speak peace into my difficult place.
Joni Eareckson Tada said, ” Sometimes God allows what He hates, to accomplish what He loves.”
Let that sink in.
“Sometimes God allows what He hates, to accomplish what He loves.”
God Goes Before Us As He Leads Making the Crooked Places Straight
He loves me. He loves you. And for each of us, His thoughts towards us are of peace, not evil, to give us a future and a hope. He sees things from an eternal perspective, not temporary. That’s because He is a good Father who sees all, knows all.
And although His ways are not our ways, all that our Father does is governed by a love beyond comprehension.
So as my hair grays and my roots of faith reach through the wilderness drought to drink from his river, I choose trust. I choose trust because I know Him.
And I love Him.
And I know that I know He loves me.
