Most people I speak with daily are ready for change.
A change in the news cycle.
A drop in temperature.
A new slate of conversation topics.
A reprieve.
Fresh air.
A cool breeze.
Football.
The pumpkins, now with extra spice.
A renewed desire to spend time outside.
Most people I speak with daily are ready for a routine.
A return to normal.
A schedule.
Knowing what to expect.
A rhythm of life.
A time when we trusted one another.
The chance to spend time alone.
To travel, without fear.
We are all ready for a change of seasons. A change of reasons.
Our sense of comfort and peace moves around like shifting sand. The mundane we once complained about is now what we crave most.
Getting through each week requires an exhausting effort.
But know that God is still active and will always be the God of this universe.
Even when it no longer feels like it.
When we no longer know what to believe, choose Him.
In a world with no answers, seek Him.
In a week with no rest, run to Him.
In a season of change, take note.
He still knows what He’s doing, and every leaf that changes its color is proof of it.
In every season of change, cling to what we know. The One we know.
It’s Him.
“He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning” (Daniel 2:21 NIV).
“He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down” (Psalm 104:19 NIV).
